Common Core State Standards

Rigorous Academic Foundation

  • At Life International Online School (LIS), we are fully committed to academic excellence by aligning our core curriculum with the rigorous Common Core State Standards. This globally recognized framework ensures that our online students receive a high-quality education that is consistent with top-tier schools in the United States and abroad. By focusing deeply on essential skills in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics, our curriculum guarantees that students build a strong foundational knowledge. This structured yet flexible online approach ensures that learning is both seamless and comprehensive for every grade level.

Critical Thinking and Real-World Application

  • Our Common Core-aligned curriculum at LIS goes beyond traditional rote memorization, emphasizing deep conceptual understanding and critical thinking. In our virtual classrooms, students do not just learn formulas or facts; they learn how to analyze text, solve complex problems, and apply their knowledge to real-world situations. Through interactive online lessons and collaborative digital projects, we encourage students to ask questions, defend their reasoning, and develop the higher-order thinking skills necessary for future success.

Future Success

  • By implementing the Common Core curriculum, LIS ensures that our international student body is fully prepared for higher education and future career pathways. The standards are specifically engineered to bridge the gap between high school graduation and college expectations. As an international online school, we leverage this framework to provide our students with transferable skills and accredited academic milestones. This makes them highly competitive candidates for top international universities and equips them to thrive in an increasingly interconnected global economy.

Curriculum Policy

  • The curriculum policy covers all chartered activities and actions at LIS followed to attain the predefined learning, pedagogical, and personal objectives of our students. The policy is designed to conform to American curriculum requirements. It demonstrates the basic curriculum subjects taught per each school year level, taking care of the needs for each stage as a student develops mentally and physically.
  • For senior levels, the curriculum develops horizontally to adapt to variability among students throughout different lines of study. Co-curricular curriculum is also included to support different aspects of student development, defining activities that build up positive personalities with knowledgeable and responsible individuals.
